Bowser Mfg.

Post by winced36 »

Bowser Mfg. Company has been in the model train business for quite a while. At one time they carried an extensive line of O-scale traction equipment, but now, other than a few accessories, their lines are exclusively HO and N-scale.

I've been looking for a suitable motor for a Paya tin trolley reproduction I bought last year, but haven't had much luck running one down. A Marx unit would probably work best, but a mate of mine suggested a Bowser drive. They turn up pretty regularly on eBay, so I've had my eye out. Recently I found a nice small Bowser I thought might be a decent donor and, on a lark, put a bid on it. As often happens, few bid on it and my low bid won. When it arrived, I realized it was too nice to take apart:

It needs a good cleaning and a bit of grease on the nylon gears, but should be a nice addition. I'll get a chance to see what Bowser's O-gauge stuff was like.

But, I'm still looking for a drive for the Paya.
