shed to cover marx-type coal dump mechanism...

Post by Howard »

good afternoon...

here's a project i have been working on for a fellow collector and e-friend from one of the marx train yahoo groups...these pictures are shown with a gray spray primer only...i'll post some pictures of the shed when bob does all the final painting and detailing...

footprint is about 3 1/4" x 4 3/4"...small flute single-face cardboard over a cardboard body...window mullions are "plastic canvas" from the craft store...the other details are more cardboard...a piece of candy apple dowel and the bottom portion of a pushpin make up the chimney...

bob made and assembled all the mechanism parts...it's a super example of "reverse engineering"...the original marx units have not been produced for many, many years...actually, many, many decades...

bob will probably do a short video of the coal dump station in action...i'll post a link when it becomes available...

my very best regards...howard...
