I love how they stress you can run them outside. As long as you don't leave the track out overnight. :-)

Ives was still cranking in 1922, eight years before they crashed into being taken over by Lionel and American Flyer. Ives had "the" automated reverse unit which the other manufacturers coveted. It became the Lionel e-unit after the takeover.

My favorite vintage trains are probably the old full-sized Ives Standard Gauge trains w/ passenger coaches. When the Polks started AristoCraft trains, they chose 1:29 scale because that was about the average of those old Ives trains. Great stuff!
