good evening...

here is a project i started for another forum...but it seems to fit in here as well...

first...let me say that i did not discover the process of turning a cheap, imported plastic figurine into toy train piece...

the method is not new or innovative...but it is fun...and the cost of the figurine will be only a quarter or so...

i started with a figurine from an imported "construction set"...it included about a dozen figures and a few vehicles...

the "before" and "during" picture is shown below...the axe head is folded cardstock...the hat is a cardboard doughnut...

there are two wires inserted into holes i drilled in the legs...epoxy was used to assemble and hold the pieces...

i'll post a pix of the "finished" piece later...

my very best regards...howard...

good morning...

finished painting the man with the axe figurine yesterday...then gave him a coat of of clear which will slowly yellow and age a bit and add a vintage look...

my very best regards...howard...

greetings to all...

while we're on the subject of figurines...here's another one i did a year or so ago for a fellow toy train friend...i needed a snow blower operator for a small structure i built...but couldn't find the right one...

so i added wheels, a discharge stack, impeller and sort of a motor block to a wheelbarrow man from the same construction set...the gray dot on the wheel is the head of a large straight pin...there's another wheel on the other side as well...

my very best regards...howard...

Well, the snowblower is a lot more believable than the wheelbarrow was. :-)
