I'm using it to introduce the paper/cardboard building subforum. Readers know that we have lots of cleaned-up building photos, faux-tinplate wall patterns, and building materials patterns that can be combined to fill a large indoor railroad for a very low budget - and if you do it right, it can look very realistic, or very vintage, as you choose.

This is a great place to post your own projects. You can also upload .pdf files and most MS Word file formats, so you can upload resources you've created as well. I'm looking forward to seeing them.

Okay, found it! You'll notice I've been slinkin' around the different forums. I guess I can start things off with a project I recently sort of completed, the Jaymar #255 39 PC Railroad and Village Construction Set. I say 'sort of' because even though I assembled the buildings for my blog they so battered and tattered I'm thinking of taking them apart, gluing braces in the and permanently reassembling them.

Ed, Those are SERIOUSLY cool. I understand what you mean about the beat-up nature of these things by the time we get ahold of them.

Many Thanx! Normally I'm a little adverse to gluing together vintage paper, but if you don't do something to a building which is literally falling apart I'm afraid it won't last long enough for a future owner (custodian) to enjoy!

You know if you take those apart, a hi-rez scan might be a nice thing to have in our digital files.
